What is ASCE?
ASCE stands for the American Society of Civil Engineers. The professional society was
established in 1852 to provide essential value to our members, their careers, our partners
and the public by developing leadership, advancing technology, advocating lifelong learning
and promoting the profession .

Why should I consider joining OC-YMF?
OC YMF provides an opportunity for professional development to civil engineers 35 years of
age or younger. YMF fosters interaction with ASCE’s Los Angeles Section, Orange County
Branch and students in our community at all levels in their career. Begin your career on the
right path with OC YMF and see how it benefits you as a young civil engineer and as a
professional.

To be an OC YMF member, you have to be a national member of the ASCE organization by
paying your annual membership registration. Check out your company’s policy on annual
professional organization dues. OC YMF charges no annual dues, and all you have to do is
make sure you are on our email distribution list and show up to any event or Board Meeting.
